Although this is about a single football game, it covers growing up in a small town in the U.S. and is an autobiography because of the flash-backs and flash-forwards that cover about fifty years.
Bob Bowie was my friend for about 35 years—we lost touch shortly after he gave me this book. The friendship began at Monterey, CA, during our time in service together and, although I'm not mentioned in the book, we shared some of the experiences he relates during that 2.5-year period. We lost touch, as noted, and I can only assume that he is still living most of the time in Russia where, the last I heard, he was a consultant to American businessmen in Russia.
