Arden Services is not a stamp dealer. I, the owner of Arden Services, was a hobby collector in my youth. If I use terms like "F" (Fine), "VF" (Very Fine), Mint, "Avg." (Average), or Good, I am defining them by my reckoning, not necessarliy the way a highly experienced dealer or entrenched hobbyist would. I tried to make the scans as clear, sharp and accurate as possible, in order to permit you to make a reasoned judgement as to their potential value--both to yourself and as to the price I ask. I also try to explain whatever I think needs explaining. If you think I'm not asking enough, great news for you. If you think I'm too high, I'll dicker, but may not agree to a lower price; however, you will never know unless you try.
Dick Johnson
Unless specified otherwise, only one stamp is available.
Hinged means there is either a hinge still attached, or evidence that it was hinged at some time. Unhinged means there is no evidence that it was ever hinged.
The number associated with each stamp is the Scott's Catalog Number.
Stamps are listed by year of issue, and include regular, commemorative, air mail, special delivery and postage due.

#219 - 1890 Standard Issue

A stamp such as this can be used temporarily to fill in a gap in anyone's collection, until such time as a better specimen might be obtained.
|
This 1¢ Dull Blue with Benjamin Franklin may not be in the best shape of any in my collection, but was a redesign from the 1881 issue.
Hinged--an attempt had been made to remove the hinge, but it was stuck so tight that it caused the damage seen in the photo.
Asking price: $0.20 + S&H
|

#328 - 1907 Jamestown Commemorative Issue
|
This 1¢ Green with Capt. John Smith is among the finest used stamps that I have in my collection. In fact, it is in such good condition that I could almost try to pass it off as unused, but won't. I suspect that at some long past time, someone stuck it on an envelope, never mailed it, and soaked it off. Never hinged.
Asking price: $13.50 + S&H
